The surah that opens with the single discrete Arabic letter Ṣād. It takes its name from the letter Ṣād, as mentioned in verse 1. This surah mentions previous prophets in support and encouragement for Muḥammad, and makes a clear link between the arrogance displayed by the disbelievers of Mecca, previous generations, and Iblis, the original rebel. The first and last verses assert the truth and nobility of the Quran.

٧٥ - خدا نے) فرمایا کہ اے ابلیس جس شخص کو میں نے اپنے ہاتھوں سے بنایا اس کے آگے سجدہ کرنے سے تجھے کس چیز نے منع کیا۔ کیا تو غرور میں آگیا یا اونچے درجے والوں میں تھا؟ .
[38:75] [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?"
[Transliteration] Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa man'aka an tasjuda limaa khalaqtu biyadai, astakbarta am kunta min 'aaleen
